First Job
I was not expecting this call. One night from years ago, I was sitting alone in my room next to the window, looking at the spectacular moon and stars, thinking about my future. I was cheerful because I had graduated from the university but at the same time I was worried about would happen next. I tried to reassure my self and feel optimistic regarding my future before I to sleep. When I woke up, I received a call that changed my life.
I had just finished my internship after receiving my bachelor’s degree in nursing. I had applied for jobs at two hospitals and prepared myself to fulfill their requirements by studying for the language test and trying to anticipate the interview questions. After a while, one of the hospitals called me for an interview and the English test. I went there and I felt that I pretty well. The following day, the hospital called to give me my results and informed me that I rejected because my English score was lower what they wanted. I felt disappointed, but that gave me power to work even harder.
A few days later, one of my friends who had applied with me in another hospital called . She told me that the hospital called to say she had gotten the position and they had asked her to come to sign the job contract. I was happy and congratulated her, but after she called, I was afraid at 2 p.m. I received a phone call from a strange number. It was a hospital and they asked me to come sign a contract.
I had been waiting for that call for a long time and I could not believe that I had my first job. I was joyful and excited. That call was on October 10, 2010. It was a call that changed my life. It gave me power and motivation to challenge myself. I told my family about that happy and my achievement. They were delighted to hear the news and congratulated me my first job. Also, they told me that I deserved this job and wished me luck in my life. Moreover, my sister surprised me with a cake which had written at the top, “Good luck in your first job”.
After a few days, I started to prepare for the first day at the hospital. I will always remember that call because I learned that if I work hard enough I will get what I want. Also, I learned I should be patient and optimistic to accomplish my goals. My family always supports and encourages me to do good things. I hope that one day I will achieve all my dreams.
